Les Génies de Mademoiselle Duval - Il Caravaggio

Posted in News from the Residency

Camille Delaforge conducts the musicians of her ensemble Il Caravaggio as well as the singers of the choir of Versailles Royal Opera in the very first recording of the only opera written by Mademoiselle Duval: "Les Génies".

This opera was played nine times in 1736 but never again afterwards. Mademoiselle Duval was a French composer and singer. She is the second woman to create an opera at the Royal Academy of Music of Paris after Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre.
